  I am back in Mexico City for a week working on a long-term project on bullfighting. Today I visited Javier Durán Olague, a sword smith known to torreros in Mexico and Spain as “El Vale,” meaning “man of worth” or “man of value.” Though his workshop is small and unassuming, he produces high quality swords, or ‘espadas,’ that are internationally renowned.
